Links and Reviews Monday: The Knitter’s Life List: To Do, To Know, To Explore, To Make

Inspirational Knitting Book by Gwen W. Steege

The Knitter's Life List: To Do, To Know, To Explore, To Make

I first discovered this book at the local library and enjoyed browsing through it before bed. In fact it was such a good book I ended up getting a fine for it–yes, that good! This past week I bought it and have been enjoying it immensely. No it is not a pattern book nor does it have many pictures. But what it does offer is the opportunity to dream.

Organized by sections these include: yarn, sweaters, socks, scarves and shawls, hats, gloves and mittens, bags, kids, home decor, and fibers. Learn about traditions, history, different techniques to learn, resources for yarn and patterns–it is almost an encyclopedia of knitting. The format is easy to navigate as well with side notes and pictures interspersed throughout the writing. Each chapter begins with an extensive list of things to learn, people to meet, things to try, and places to go, as well as providing space for you to write your own list.

If I had to sum the book up in one phrase I would call it A Knitter’s Bucket List.

  1. This book sounds so interesting! I love craft books that are unique and stand out because with so many of them out there they need to attract your attention. This one intrigues me! I shall have to investigate further!
