The Art of Manipulating Fabric by Colette Wolff equals mind blown. I love this book. It covers every topic in crafting fabric from basic gathering and darts to different styles of smocking and creative cording. Whether you are a quilter, casual sewer, or professional seamstress this book really is the ultimate guide for the modern fabric crafter.

Pictures of all the techniques abound as well as drawn illustrations and descriptive paragraphs for each and every fabric manipulation mentioned in this book. One of my favorite parts is that all photographs are in black and white which really allows the pattern techniques to speak for itself as opposed to being distracted by the colors.

It is quite possible to spend hours looking at this book as the explanations, illustrations, and photographs are so detailed. Many libraries carry this book but it is really a book that anyone who works with fabric must own.
